Home, however relaxing and fun it sounds, we all missed office after 3 months 12 days.
Travelling in the hustle and bustle, early in the morning, with buses honking and drivers cussing. Random kid screaming and waving”Hi!” from the school vans.
Mothers packing lunches and bottles in fast forward mode for school kids and for office going kids like me. :P
The office cafeteria. The gossips. Dressing up. Waking up. I miss them.
My quarantined life routine begins with a wake up call from my team discussing the day’s agenda, while I half-heartedly listen and brush.
Mum’s favorite hobby is to intentionally embarrass me by yelling lines like,’Brush your teeth and eat! It’s 11 O’clock!’ or ‘Don’t sleep!’, whilst I’m on call.
If there’s someone in my family who understands my necessity of my prolonged unreasonable sleep, it’s my dad. He serves me breakfast and occasionally snacks too.
And, my sibling. Are all siblings really loud? My brother, younger by 2 years, cannot/ does not talk softly when I’m on a call. So he just sees me with earphones and leaves me in the dark. He is the tea maker of our house. Ginger tea at 5pm is inevitable.
After 6pm, it’s time to hear Corona news updates and followed by IPL (Indian Premier League). Go CSK!
Dinner at 8pm with my dad, watching CNN bicker about Donald Trump, or the BBC portraying UK’s Corona spread in graphs and bar charts, or Puthiyathalimurai (Tamil news channel) which strongly advises that hand sanitizers are NOT alcohols to be drunk, is a given. While my brother and I wait for Anime releases for the day.
On the weekends, We fix our eyes on the Premier League – United getting bashed and Leeds United putting up such fiersome performances. (United fan crying here :/)
At around half past ten, dad is done with the dishes and I am assigned the last chore of the day – the task of throwing the garbage bag out.
Once everything is covered, I end my day with a hot cup of horlicks and watching Naruto run after Sasuke.
Oops! It’s 1 am. Good night!
